Feet on the Ground

Get out and find the person within
Burst the bubble you seem to be in
Wake up and smell the coffee bean
There’s more to life than just ME, ME, ME!!
When you venture, into the real world
Spread you wings that for years have been curled
Don’t be surprised if you’re over your head
Did you leave your brain tucked up in bed?
Feet on the ground?
You’ve got a birds-eye view
Feet on the ground?
You’re the centre of it all,
Feet on the ground?
The world revolves around you
I’ve got news for you,
Safe, working hard in your comfort zone
Don’t you realise your in a team all alone
Look after number one, it’s what everyone thinks
Back stabbing side is your only common links
Feet on the ground?
You’ve got a birds-eye view
Feet on the ground?
You’re the centre of it all,
Feet on the ground?
The world revolves around you
I’ve got news for you,

Did Somebody Die? Oh yeah, that was me,
the price I pay, for you being free,
Did I hear you right? Did you really say?
Never thought I could feel this way...
But truth will out, into despair
hearts in my mouth, when your face tells the world
All your pages, reading just like a book,
Without a care of how I feel or you look
I realise, its not me, its not me, Its you
Now it’s all so clear, why you do what you do
Too many days spent looking for answers,
Life’s an “excuse me” but with too many dancers
Now, you’re happy after giving me the shove
Moved away, to be near the ones that you love
Accepting now, what is happening is true
Someone else in my life, Its not YOU!!
I realise, its not me, its not me, Its you
Now it’s all so clear, why you do what you do
Too many days spent looking for answers,
Life’s an “excuse me” but with too many dancers

Flip the Dime

FLIP THE DIME
A November day in Dallas
When the motorcade went past
The 35th smiled from inside
Who knew it’d be his last
The shots ring out and people scream
From where nobody knows
First lady screaming in despair
Blood splattered on her clothes
Who has the right
To take their life
Before their time
Do we win
Do we lose
Flip the dime
The bombshell lay upon her bed
No make up, hair undone
A suicide to end her life
Her pills the smoking gun
Took her own life or was she killed
The crime scene primed and set
Conspiracy, LAPD
Just how was her end met?
Who has the right
To take their life
Before their time
Do we win
Do we lose
Flip the dime
A man called “X” came to light
A voice for ones oppressed
Went further than the ones before
Believer in his quest
When Malcom spoke the Nation shook
Some angered by his word
A ballroom, but no dancing here
His final speech was heard
Who has the right?
To take their life
Before their time
Do we win?
Do we lose?
Flip the dime
Stand up for what you believe
It’s taught to us in schools
But a higher power is at work
Free speech but their own rules
So please, I ask, don’t rock the boat
And make the people think
If you’re popular you’ll tow the line
Or vanish in a blink…..
They have the right
To take their life

10 Minutes Late
04:35
|
|||
She steps onto the crowded platform.
Her head searching for a reason why.
She knows its coming.
She runs towards it she’s running away
She reaches the front door, hair in her face.
She knows its closer.
She pushed the door open, the look on his face
He grips her and throws her to the floor.
He pulls the blinds down to muffle her screams
She screams, he drags her, a rag doll in his hands.
She knows it hurts.
She's flung, she's beaten, she is ten minutes late,
She's slapped; she’s bleeding for just ten minutes late,
Silent now but for ten minutes late,
No more now, hair in her face
She’s ten minutes late
The numbness takes over; the mist descends,
Watching herself from above, it’s not her.
It’s all over in a heartbeat, the final solution,
He’s clueless, but did not see it coming.
She’s been driven to this.
She's flung, she's beaten, she is ten minutes late,
She's slapped; she’s bleeding for just ten minutes late,
Silent now but for ten minutes late,
No more now, hair in her face
She’s ten minutes late
The breathing subsides, calm, without a care
Hands stretched out, face of inquisition.
Another blow, to end the torment of the clock
The last breath a silent apology.
She rests now…
She knows it’s over…..
She rests now…
She knows it’s over…..

Listen.....
I said it once shall I say it again
Do you need me to spell it out?
Indecision just drives me insane
You don’t understand what its all about
I just want you to get the message
And put you out of my misery
You r actions have now burned your bridges
A branch torn from the family tree
And I’d tell you, I don’t love you
But I don’t want you anymore
The girl of many years ago
Has withered out and died
I’m in search of the love that i lost
Couldn’t you see all of the signs
The vacant stares the awkward silence
Hard to read between lines
Here rests my case for the defence
Life before all this now feels like a dream
Hard to believe that i was awake
All that time I swam against the stream
Looking back with a double take
And i’d tell you, I don’t love you
But I don’t want you anymore
The girl of many years ago
Has withered out and died
I’m in search of the love that i lost
