A joyful track inspired and penned while I was reading "The Heroin Diaries" by Nicki Sixx. I was reading a chapter where he described where he would be alone in the dark, huddled in his closet, the pain of his addiction pumping through his body and his paranoia at the time.
Excerpt - "I would make a beeline for my bedroom closet. That was my refuge. I would huddle in there, surrounded by my drug paraphernalia and guns, convinced that people were in the house trying to get me, or a SWAT team was outside preparing to bust me. I would be too scared to move until I came down. The only way to bring myself down quicker was heroin. Heroin would make the madness go away: it was the easy solution"
lyrics
I drowned in the dark, its night again
Alone where shadows go to hide
All sound is gone, consumed by pain
No sight or sign of life outside
My only friend is in my head
(I’m your only friend I’m in your head)
He talks to me to ease my mind
(I talk to you to ease your mind)
Hear the words of wisdom said
In search of answers hard to find
Day after day, my life’s on repeat
Safe inside my lonely shell
Locked in my solitary retreat
Live out my days in my own hell
Too scared to ask for help I need
(You’ll never get the help you need)
Further falling to the black
(Forever fall into the black)
A prison never to be freed
Not moving forward, just looking back
Day after day, my life’s on repeat
Safe inside my lonely shell
Locked in my solitary retreat
Live out my days in my own hell
